National Register of Historic Places for Aurora, Colorado

 

Aurora, Colorado was founded in 1891. Its founder was Donald Fletcher. Thus, the town began as Fletcher. Its current name began during 1907.

 

Aurora, Colorado’s atmosphere was the primary reason that Fitzsimons Army Hospital was erected in the area sometime in 1921. Buckley Field was built in 1942.

 

The city is located within Arapahoe County. Although tt began as an agricultural society, currently Aurora is home to the University of Colorado Hospital and Health Sciences Center and Nighthorse Campbell Native Health Building and Colorado Bioscience Park Aurora.
