Aurora Central High School Reviews

As a graduating member of the class of 2005 I can say that I got a great educational experience. All the teachers I knew and took classes with were some of the best teachers I've ever had. People can say all they want about sports, but from first-hand experience the sports weren't good until 2004. ACHS prepared me for what was upcoming in the real world.

the teachers really care for us and aren't there for the money

this is where my step son goes and I am not impressed with any part of the school not the education, not the out side of class room activities. I would not chose for him to go there. But, I do not have a choice

Im presently attending achs. I think that they have really cracked down on students this year and its going to be a very excellent school in aurora

The teachers appear generally competent and care for their students but the constraints on them from an inept administration are enormous. The student body is very diverse with the many advantages of diversity as well as with some disadvantages... i.e. there are some students who don't care about academics.

I think that Aurora Central is one of the worst schools in academics. The sports are proubly the only good thing they have they have really good athletics but other than that the staff is horrible just like any school in Aurora they should get serious about education and also dicipline. What I have noticied about my daughter going there is that the students are very rude to adult authorities and for some strange reason they keep bad kids in. Like I said this school is only good for extracurricular activites (sports, choir ect.) other than that its not worth it. Aurora Central is just like Gateway Hinkley they don't give so much attention.

I graduated from ACHS in 2005 and found it to be one of the most diverse schools in the Denver area. Many concerns have come from from the safety concerns following a report done by Denver's Fox 31 News. The report focused on the negative side of this phenomenally diverse school. There are opportunities for the students who are willing to achieve them. Many in my graduating class (2005) will say that ACHS is good school, the ones who make it bad routinely don't stay long enough to have weighty impact. Quit bashing Central.

As a former student of Aurora Central. I must say that I had one of the worse education experiences at this school. I graduated with the class of 1988 and I thought I would give the school a chance by sending my daughter. What a big mistake. I also don't feel that the staff really cares if the kids learn or not.

This school is just like any other high school, that gives students the opportunity to try different subjects. The academics results though is quite low. Most students get quite bored and bothers to not give enough efforts, but other than the extracurriculum is exellent. At ACHS students have many choices, that includes playing a musical instrument, theater, art, and many other subjects. After school clubs are available also.

I think that Aurora Central may not be the safest or richest school in Colorado but i do believe that there education is Solid. They have a great sports program as well as other extra curricular activities.

As a student at aurora central high school i do believe that our education is great. if u are looking for a great school then aurora central may be your choice!

I am a former student at aurora central and am scanning the area for schools out of curiosity. I graduated in 97 and saw most of what these parents are talking about. The problem with achs is that there is no discipline with the students who do cause the problems, thats the reason no one wants to work there. The teachers do care and want to teach, but the other part about it is half the students don't have the respect for the teachers or authority figures nor do they care. Its not always the students faults. Achs does a good job of diversity, but they don't teach it the way they should. It should be about embracing eachother, not dividing each other. If you want to settle for you child being average, achs is good. If your child wants to go to college, choose another high school! tom austin

i feel that Aurora Central dosent give their students the type of education that most other schools give their students. I think for a student going to Aurora Central is made to feel different sometimes in a good way but other times in a bad way. every day i see fights going on at lunch or after school because they bumped in to each other in the hall. not everyone at Aurora Central is bad, but to get a good education with the right learning pick a different school.

Aurora central may not be one of the most popular schools in the aps district or any other, but it is one of the more exciting and diverse schools I've seen so far. Most other schools dont get the chance to really learn about other cultures or get to participate in them the way Aurora Central has and does. If you ask me they may not have the best of things, but they deal and accept the facts that they can out rank any other scholl by just showing that 'when things get tough they have one other by there side, no matter culture, relgion, appearance, and or gender...
