Canyon Creek Elementary School Reviews

Excellent Teachers, Excellent Classrooms, Challenging Work and a Great Community Environment. I couldn't be more happy with how well my son has grown both socially and academically since he started going to school here in just 3 months.

We love the teachers and administration. We have two kids that attend this school.

I have been involved with my childs teacher and classroom throughout the year. I have been very impressed with all teachers and staff I have come in contact with. /

Both of my children attend Canyon Creek and I cannot say enough about the outstanding leadership and teachers there. Mrs Magro (1st grade) and Mrs Alden (5th grade) are both outstanding teachers as are the rest of the staff at Canyon Creek. I absolutely love this school and if you are moving into the area I highly recommend it.

I personally think this school is one in a million and I love it. Not only are the teachers good but the principal is great! She makes sure everyone is feeling comfortable and safe. Dr. O'Brien is a wonderful person in general and I am really going to miss her in the years to come. Another teacher that I love at this school is Ms. Tracy she is a great person who has great teaching techniques that my child and I loved. If you ever want a great school have you child attend this one.

My children attended Canyon Creek for three years. The principle was very accessible to my children and myself. The teaching staff was outstanding. We have moved but my daughter still wants to keep in touch with her teachers. The first grade reading program and curriculum was wonderful. My daughters teacher in particular was the most amazing teacher and human being I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. There is also an outstanding kindergarten teacher there. This school makes a great effort to have extra curricular activities as well. My children loved science and gym here. If you are moving into this area strongly consider any homes in this schools area.

This is an amazing school full of good staff and very involved parents. My daughters are so fortunate to be a part of this body. Dr.O'Brien and Mrs. Sloan as well as the very friendly office staff have literally made us feel welcome and have become a part of our extended family; especially being from out of state. We love it here!!!

Academic programs are very good. For the most part, the teachers are very good. Some better than others in relating and being flexible in teaching so that the child understands the lesson. All specials are at the school. Parent involvement is excellent. Parents bond with each other. The administration would fair better with more compassion for the children.

My experience with this school has been quite unfavorable. Parental involvement is only encouraged insofar as it means cutting, pasting or gluing. Parents who can think for themselves are politely belittled if they have non-traditional/liberal beliefs and are largely ignored by the administration. The administration seems unwilling to entertain the notion that times are changing, minds are opening and children need a little more than just the answer to 2+2. The administrators and teachers seem to all be of one mind, so introducing new ideas that will enrich the children's lives in novel ways - such as bringing 'humane education' into the classroom - will not be welcomed with open arms. Parents need to feel welcome in the school. Teachers and administrators need to be better role models and put into action themselves what they claim to be teaching the kids - respect for others.

Canyon Creek is one of the Coloardo has to offer the class ration is nice, new school, and most important the staff ( teachers, non teachers and the Principal) they are all an excelent combination which makes it so good.

Great School, brand new, excellent staff!
